Curaçao International Film Festival Opens Submissions for Yellow Robin Award Competition

WILLEMSTAD – Submissions are open for the Yellow Robin Competition at the Curaçao International Film Festival, which will celebrate its 13th edition this April 13 – 18, 2027.
Filmmakers living or working in the Caribbean and the Caribbean basin (including coastal Central and South America), as well as those living or working in the diaspora, can submit their first or second feature films for CIFF´s prestigious Yellow Robin Competition. Now in its 11th year, the Yellow Robin Competition offers a platform for emerging filmmakers from the Caribbean and Latin America.
Submission is free.
Submissions are open until midnight on Tuesday December 15th, 2026.
Selected filmmakers will be invited to Curacao to present their films during the festival, which will take place from April 13-18, 2027. The winning film will be selected by an international jury and awarded a cash prize of $8,000 USD.
Requirements
– Films must meet a minimum duration of 60 minutes.
– Production year should be listed as 2025 or later.
– Submissions are open to fiction, non-fiction and films of any genre in-between.
– The section is open to filmmakers from the Caribbean and the Caribbean basin (including coastal Central and South America), as well as those living or working in the diaspora.
Please note that the festival is unable to pay screening fees for films selected in competition. Films must screen from DCP, which should be provided at the filmmaker´s own expense. Alternatively, the festival can cover DCP costs up to a maximum of US$200.

– Films should be submitted by email to ciff2027.submissions@gmail.com.
– Please include a viewing link, short synopsis, bio of the filmmaker and the films´ country or countries of production.

Selection Process
The selection committee will watch and consider all submitted films. All films will be notified of their final selection status by the end of January 2027.
In case your film is selected, you will receive further information about sending the master copy (DCP) and other film materials.
The selection committee’s decision is final.
